Picture of the day

As a rule I don't like photographing on major highways but I could not resist this scene. The shoulder was wide so I could safely get off the highway in good visibility. I passed this scene frequently and first noticed the gorgeous fireweed patch but it was the colour contrast created by the cattails which persuaded me to stop. I had to time my exposures so the whizzing transport trucks did not affect the stillness of the scene.
